What does this class entail?

The class will begin at the Zona Rosa community room located at 8600 NW 86th Street, Suite 106.

You may call us if you need directions. Tel. 816-505-0500

Kim is going to illustrate ways to decorate a table and buffet by incorporating vintage pieces to create a home sweet vintage style setting.

Then after class we will head over to Vintage Market. Kim and her staff are ready to assist you with your decorating questions. We're always full of ideas at the market!

Bring a picture of a room in your home, outdoor space, or an item you want to incorporate into your vintage style decorating scheme. We will help you answer your decorating questions.

Please feel free to call us if you need help with directions or further details about this class.

Vendors sold fresh veggies, organic coffee, baked goods, and hand-crafted perfumes.

Pictures from the past...

Collecting old photo's in an affordable ~~treasure,~~ pleasure.

It's as if I'm gazing through a faded window from the past as I look at them.

You can easily find them at most flea markets and antique shops.

Whether you prefer tattered or torn, your vintage photograph reflects simpler days, and is one of a kind.

Some things to do with old photo's...

Scan or copy photo, and print on paper to make a collage.

Copy photo onto heat transfer paper, and then place on pillows, linens, and bags.

Punch holes in photo to make custom tags

Sew old photo's together to make a picture pocket.

Tie on packages for an extra vintage touch.

These are but just a few ideas for re-using old photo's.

If you have other ways of recycling the day's gone by images, we'd love to hear your ideas.

What items do I search for while out and about shopping for vintage?

So many things, and I will be sharing some of those finds with you in the weeks to come.

A favorite past & present find, Hat Boxes.

Whether you're stacking them or using them to store ribbons and baubles, a hat box adds vintage charm, and cottage chic to any room.
They are usually an affordable treasure, and I always see at least one or two while on my flea market outings.
The Vintage Market offers hat boxes in different shapes and sizes to get you started with your collection!

Charming hat boxes wrapped in pretty vintage wallpapers adorn your space.
One of my favorite things.

Preparations are being made for our next special showcase event, Sealed With A Kiss.

Our new web site will be available soon, but until then we want to answer a few FAQ we've been receiving.

How long has Vintage Market been at Zona Rosa?

We began having temporary three day Vintage Market showcases or chapters as we called them, every two months or so at beautiful Zona Rosa last summer.

Our first showcase Summer Porches offered extraordinary vintage design, style, and days gone by ambiance as well as unique recycled goods.
That showcase was followed by two others, Visions of Paris, and Company's Coming, both of which carried our signature vintage style themes.

People came from far and near to check out our special event chapters, and the word spread quickly about the once in awhile venues. Folks began requesting they wished we were here all the time, thus creating VINTAGE MARKET open nearly every day (except holidays and the three days prior to our showcases).

We continue to host our unique once in awhile showcases. We post information about each showcase on our blog as well as offer a postcard with that information @ the market. We close three days prior to each showcase to prepare, as new merchandise is arriving and we invite new boutiques to participate in the showcase.

The next showcase, Sealed With A Kiss has a unique offering of vintage goods, soulful hand-made items, and special one of kind essentials. You won't want to miss it!

VINTAGE MARKET @ Zona Rosa has been such a huge success during the holidays that we have decided to continue to be open year round in lieu of that success.

We will be closed Monday through Wednesday, but re-opening on Thursday, January 7!

The Market is undergoing a complete makeover.
We have new boutiques coming in and our selection of vintage is expanding throughout the store.

I want to share with you another new Vintage Market piece that came in earlier this week. This was once a baby bed, but now re-purposed into a darling day bed. Can't you imagine this sitting in your home stuffed with shabby pillows and quilted up? I can! Hurry though, these kind of rare pieces don't last long!

Do you know what I'm referring to when I say "Snow Decorating"?
For those of you that live in the Midwest, you know we recently had a huge snow storm move through during Christmas.
I don't know about you, but for me, when it snows I get this sudden feeling to re-decorate my home. My nesting instinct moves to full throttle and I find myself changing things.
I thought you might like to see the beginning stages of my re-do.

The Northland Vintage Market will soon be offering an informative quarterly journal.
We were inspired by the vintage Kansas City Journal, circa 1900, seen above.

We are excited about offering this unique one of a kind publication. The NVM
journal will be complimentary and released during our chapter events throughout the year to our NVM patrons.

Included in each addition will be NVM Chapter news and hot topics, as well as vendor features and regular pieces chosen specifically about the vintage home and articles discussing your vintage style. We will also be offering advertising placement to our wonderful talented vendors.
